Have you ever felt like everything you thought you wanted suddenly doesn’t make sense anymore? Where the goals that once drove you feel empty, and the future looks like a foggy horizon with no clear direction?
This in-between state is called the liminal space. It’s uncomfortable. It feels like you’ve lost your footing, your motivation, and maybe even your identity. And yet, this is where the deepest transformation happens.
I’ve recently been in this space myself. For months, I felt the pull to step back from my business, my online presence, and the external noise. I wasn’t inspired. I wasn’t motivated. At times, I even questioned my path entirely. From the outside, it might have looked like I was “stuck” or “failing.” But inside, something powerful was happening.
The liminal space is the threshold between who you were and who you’re becoming. It’s a transitional space where the old way no longer works, but the new way hasn’t fully revealed itself yet.
Think of it like a cocoon. The caterpillar dissolves into a formless state before it emerges as a butterfly. From the outside, it looks like nothing is happening. On the inside, everything is happening.
When you’re in the liminal space, you may feel:
It can feel scary because our culture glorifies productivity, clarity, and achievement. But the liminal space asks you to surrender – to let go of who you’ve been so something greater can emerge.
We often resist feeling lost because it threatens our sense of control. But what if feeling lost is not a setback, but an initiation?
When I stopped forcing myself to “figure it out” and allowed myself to sit in the void, I started to hear my soul more clearly. The noise of the world quieted down, and I realized I didn’t have to do more. I was being invited to become more.
Feeling lost is necessary because:
In short, the liminal space humbles the ego and strengthens the soul.
Instead of rushing to escape the discomfort, the invitation is to lean into it. To sit with the stillness. To breathe into the unknown.
Here’s what I’ve discovered in the void:
If you’re in this in-between season right now, here are some practices that helped me:
The most profound realization I had in this season was this: the void isn’t empty – it’s limitless.
When you feel lost, it doesn’t mean you’re off track. It means you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be: dissolving the old to make room for the new.
Every next level of your life requires a new version of you. And that new version can only emerge in the liminal space.
So if you’re feeling lost right now, know this: you are not broken. You are becoming. And your next level is closer than you think.
The liminal space is not easy to navigate alone. If you’re ready to alchemize this season of uncertainty into your greatest breakthrough, I’d love to walk alongside you.
This is the work I do with my clients – helping you release old programming, connect with your higher self, and step into the life your soul is calling you toward.
